Miss Universe QLD Finalist Interview - Melina Kos

Well, Autumn is in full swing, and It’s also that time of year when the search to find Miss Universe Australia is well underway with state finalists being announced across the country.

So we thought it would be a perfect time to kick off some home state interviews with Melina Kos.
Congratulations on making it through to the state finals, why don’t you tell us about yourself?

I am 23 originally from the UK! I moved to Australia 6 years ago with my family and had loved every moment. I lived in Sydney for about three years and currently living in Brisbane city embarking on a new adventure! My passions in life are health and fitness, fashion and all things Beauty!

We all have motivations, Mine usually revolves around coffee but what was your key motivation for entering the MUA competition?

My motivation is to be a role model for women my age. We are surrounded by a lot of comparison and opinions that we feel pressurised by, and I would love to be able to represent the females of my generation and promote self-worth and confidence!

What part of the Miss Universe Australia program are you most looking forward to?

I am looking forward to working with the sponsors and being a positive ambassador for such fantastic brands and also being able to work with other girls like myself!

We are all unique so what would you say is something that makes you stand out from the other contestants?

I feel I can bring a wealth of knowledge from my life experiences of being independent from a very young age and having to grow up very quickly and I also feel that will bring a high level of commitment and dedication to being miss universe.

With the state finals, less than a fortnight away, has your routine changed at all?

My routine has allowed time for the amazing workshops Miss Universe has presented to us. I have also been adding in a few more gym sessions as a preparation!

What is something that you hope to bring out of the Miss Universe Australia pageant?

I would love to bring out the quote I live by that that is ‘ dreams don’t work unless you do’ it would be a dream to become miss universe Australia and I hope it can make a small motivation of mine come to life.

We will wrap up with a few irrelevant and random questions, now that my coffee has worn off.
Name five things you can’t live without?

My mum!!! , the gym, lipstick haha, tea and warm weather !!

How long does it take you to scroll through Facebook before giving up?

I would say around 30 seconds I am more of an Instagram girl!

How would your closest friend describe you?

(Hopefully) they would say I am out going, driven and supportive !!

When You Dance, You look like?

In a dream world Beyoncé!

Finally, and this one is important, so please pay attention… What do you think pets dream about?

I have a little cat called Ollie and I’m pretty sure he dreams about his next meal time … we have similarities there!

So not long now until this highly anticipated event that will see 28 of QLD’s most beautiful women compete to secure a spot as a QLD National Finalist, and go on to compete in and represent QLD in the Miss Universe Australia National Final. Get Your Ticket Here
