Well, Autumn is in full swing, and It’s also that time of year when the search to find Miss Universe Australia is well underway with state finalists being announced across the country.
So we thought it would be a perfect time to kick off some home state interviews with Serena Lyle. Â Congratulations on making it through to the state finals, why don’t you tell us about yourself?
I am 23 years old and grew up on the beautiful Sunshine Coast by the beach with loving parents, a younger sister and pets. My life revolved around the ocean growing up Surf life saving, jet skiing, boating, fishing and Kayaking. I studied a Bachelor of International Business at University. I am a big believer in taking opportunities when they present themselves; this leads me to travel the world and provide me with the knowledge, experience and confidence to start my house relocations business in Australia.
We all have motivations, Mine usually revolves around coffee but what was your key motivation for entering the MUA competition?
My key motivation for entering MUA was to inspire the next generation to make a difference in the world and stand up for our environment. I believe in the empowerment of the next generation and spreading the message through my actions. This is a fantastic opportunity for public platforms and relations to use my voice, speak out and make real change in my local community and even reach a global audience.
What part of the Miss Universe Australia program are you most looking forward to?
I am looking forward to representing Queensland proud on stage and spreading my message about Marine conservation issues and meeting some really fun girls.
We are all unique so what would you say is something that makes you stand out from the other contestants?
I love to travel and have gone around to 23 countries and experienced many different languages and cultures. I own my own house relocations packing business in a male dominated industry. My name is Latin for Serene.
With the state finals, less than a fortnight away, has your routine changed at all?
Let’s just say I’m eating a lot less icecream…
What is something that you hope to bring out of the Miss Universe Australia pageant?
I hope to make real change not just in my local community but globally. To grow a stronger sense of myself and inspire the next generation to make a real difference in the world.
We will wrap up with a few irrelevant and random questions, now that my coffee has worn off.
Name five things you can’t live without?
My family, my furry family, the beach, ice cream sandwiches and coffee dates with my friends.
How long does it take you to scroll through Facebook before giving up?
My Facebook mostly consists of marine animals so I could scroll on forever until I get to a swimwear sale then I click on the link… 😛
How would your closest friend describe you?
Genuinely caring, addicted to activewear, an adventurer, reliable, a bit of a mermaid.
When You Dance, You look like?
The squid emoticon ?
Finally, and this one is important, so please pay attention… What do you think pets dream about?
Haha, I think my cat just dreams about Geckos and the bachelor tabby down the road and my dog dreams about rolling in the sand.
