Well here in Queensland we’ve just wrapped up another sensational Summertime the weather is sparkling, and the search for the next Miss Universe Australia is heading our way with finalists being announced across the country now.
We thought we would kick off our home state interviews with Natalia Ferrari.
Congratulations on making it through to the state finals, why don’t you tell us about yourself?
I am a down to earth 20-year-old woman who has big dreams, I am tremendously hard-working, creative, and extremely stimulated to succeed. I love to push myself past my boundaries on the daily, and I just loves to continuously create new content and be apart of creative vision. I speak Two languages, Spanish and of course………… ENGLISH.
We all have motivations, Mine usually revolves around coffee ? but what was your key motivation for entering the Miss Universe Australia competition?
I LOVE coffee too! Although I find that my key motivation is my myself. I’m a driven woman; I am always positive and passionate about anything I do. It is a passion of mine to motivate people to better themselves; I see Miss Universe Australia as an opportunity to empower other women /people to acknowledge their self-worth and strive to be the best they can be.
What part of the Miss Universe Australia program are you most looking forward to?
I view the Miss Universe program as an opportunity for self-discovery, I hope that by helping others I will learn more about my place in the world and how I can use my skills and knowledge to improve the lives of the people around me. I had such an amazing journey last year, so I am really looking forward to doing it all again this year. I am so thankful for the program that Troy and Sophia have created for us. Words can’t describe what I have already taken from this experience in such a short amount of time
We are all unique so what would you say is something that makes you stand out from the other contestants?
I think we all have something unique about ourselves that set us apart from the rest. Personally, I believe that is my commitment, perseverance and my motivation that sets me apart from all the other beautiful girls. I have put so much energy, time and emotion into this competition and I know that I will put 100% into 2018.
With the state finals, just a few days away, has your routine changed at all?
I am feeling very nervous in the lead up to the state final. I’ve paid more attention to my diet and have used food to fuel my extra exercise sessions so that I feel confident on stage. To prepare for the Q&A segment, Oh, and talking to myself in the mirror Lol!
What is something that you hope to bring out of the Miss Universe Australia pageant?
This is my second year taking part in the Miss Universe Australia program, and I can honestly say that the past two years have been so rewarding and empowering. I have gained so much self-confidence, and this year I am hoping to come out with some incredible new friends while continuing to expand my social presence in order to try and encourage other women to get out of their comfort zone and try to be the best they can be- just like the Miss Universe Australia pageant pushed me to do.
What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?
One of the funniest and cringe-worthy things that happened to me recently took place when I was leaving my local gym. I had just finished a tough session and was keen to go home to get changed and meet up with my partner who was supposed to be finishing work at the same gym shortly. When I went to exit the gym, I saw my partner walking away on his phone, and I went running up to him and give him a big hug and kiss! The only problem was… it wasn’t my boyfriend like I thought it was… it was his twin brother! Never have I ran away so fast in my life.
How would your closest friend describe you?
Haha, well they would all say that I am a very bubbly and funny person! They would also say that everything I do is done with an essence of Meraki, meaning that I put all of myself into whatever I’m focusing on. Nothing I do in life is done without a strong desire to do it, and this is reflected in the way I go about my fit lifestyle as well as forging strong relationships with the people in my life.
Name five things you can’t live without?
• My family & friends • Chocolate bullets ( Even though I am lactose!) • The beach • Laughter • Music
What is one piece of advice you’d give to your 12-year-old self?
When it comes time to go swimming, dive straight into the pool. Don’t be the person lingering around, afraid to get cold or get your hair messed up, and dipping just a toe into the water. This same mentality applies to life as well. Don’t be afraid to make the first splash. Tackle challenges head-on with all that you’ve got in you. You will make a great change in this world if you trust in yourself and believe that you have the power to achieve whatever you set your mind to. We all are unique and have different strengths and passions. If you give everything 100% of your effort, you’ll find your passions and your place in this world. Don’t be so hard on yourself.
