This morning in news that has sent waves across the Gold Coast, SEA FM has revealed its Breakfast lineup plans for 2024, promising a fresh start and a renewed energy to kick off the new year. The spotlight shines on two familiar voices taking over the role at the station, and an intriguing addition is still under wraps.
Bronte Langbroek, a Gold Coast native and well-known radio personality, is making her triumphant return to SEA FM’s Breakfast studio. She will be sharing the mic with Danny Lakey, creating a dynamic duo that’s hoped to captivate morning listeners. This news follows a major shakeup in the Breakfast show, as the longtime previous hosts, Bianca Dye and Ben Hanant, bid an emotional farewell to their loyal audience just last week.
Bronte and Lakey, promises a fresh and engaging new show is on the horizon. The show will now reach a broader audience as it is set to be broadcast across Hit Queensland’s other markets.
SCA Head of Regional Content, Blair Woodcock, expressed his enthusiasm for this transition, highlighting Bronte Langbroek’s role as the voice of Breakfast across Queensland. Langbroek has been co-hosting the statewide Hit show for the past 12 months from Townsville, and her return to her hometown is met with great anticipation. Woodcock mentioned that with Bronte’s sense of humor and storytelling abilities, the audience can expect more laughter and excitement in the mornings.
For Bronte, returning to Sea FM is a homecoming. She spent time at the station earlier in her career, after starting in radio in Brisbane. Over the years, she has gained valuable experience in various radio stations, from Griffith to Geelong, and now she’s back where it all began. Bronte Langbroek’s excitement about coming home is palpable, and she looks forward to waking up her beloved Gold Coast and the rest of Queensland on the same station she grew up listening to.
“As a born and bred Gold Coast gal, moving to Sea FM feels like coming home in every sense. I am so excited that I now get to help wake up my beautiful hometown – and the rest of Queensland – on the same station I grew up listening to every single day,” she said.
Bronte will be teaming up with Danny Lakey, who himself returned to the Gold Coast a year ago after a decade-long absence. Lakey’s journey began at 90.9 Sea FM, where he first fell in love with radio.
