Row for Life: Bianca, Ben, and Lakey lead the charge to raise $100,000 for a great cause.

Join 90.9 Sea FM's beloved trio - Bianca, Ben, and Lakey - as they lead the charge in this rowing event for a great cause. With star power from Olympic kayaker Kenny Wallace, former Broncos Captain Alex Glen, and more

Get ready for a rowing event like no other, as 90.9 Sea FM’s beloved trio – Bianca, Ben, and Lakey – gear up for the second ROW FOR LIFE at the Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium. But this won’t be a leisurely float down the stream; it’s a high-octane charity rowing event with oarsome stars joining the fray!

Last year, this event raised over $50,000 for 10 local charities, and now they’re back with a mighty goal: to raise $100,000 for 4ASD Kids Charity and support a local Gold Coast mum, Georgia Kidd, who has faced a life-threatening stroke earlier this year.

The rowing champs are calling in the heavyweights, assembling teams that will row for a cause. Ben Hannant’s team boasts an impressive lineup, including Olympic kayaker Kenny Wallace, former Broncos Captain Alex Glen, and former NZ NRL player, Sam Perritt. Lakey, on the other hand, has secured former Australian rugby league international, Greg Bird, and reality television personality, David Subritsky. As for Bianca, she’s got a secret rowing weapon in the form of Gold Coast drag queen, Roxie Harte, who will row in full drag, killer heels included!

But the star power doesn’t end there; legendary footy star Mat Rogers, co-founder of 4ASD Kids Charity alongside his wife Chloe, will also be present to lend their support.

The event will feature 60 x Concept 2 Rowers lined up, side by side, with each participant taking on the ambitious challenge of rowing a full marathon (42.2 kilometers), either individually or as part of a team.

On Friday the 4th of August you can catch the 90.9 Sea FM brekkie team, broadcasting live from the event, addingg an extra layer of difficulty to the challenge and sure to bring in a laugh or two.

Bianca Dye said on Friday that their challenge pales in comparison to what Georgia Kidd is enduring. After a clot blocked blood flow to her brain, surgeons had to remove part of her skull, and she spent nine days on life support. Georgia’s road to recovery has been arduous and expensive, which is why the trio is rallying support for her, as it’s what Gold Coasters do – coming together to support their own.

The Row for life event is a beautiful convergence of sports stars, local business and the community rallying around a noble cause. The The organisers, including First Choice Solar, are urging everyone to head to rowforlife.com.au and register to be part of this incredible event.

So, mark your calendars for this Friday, when oars will clash and spirits will soar as Bianca, Ben, and Lakey lead the charge, rowing for life and making a real difference in the lives of those in need. Get ready to be part of this unforgettable journey, as they row together for a brighter and better future.
