Seas The Day 2026 Returns to Kingscliff Beach

Get ready for the 2026 NRMA Insurance Seas The Day at Kingscliff Beach. The world's largest female surfing event returns this June.

Get your boards ready because Surfing Australia has officially announced the return of the NRMA Insurance Seas The Day. As the world’s largest female participation surf event, it is heading back to Kingscliff Beach in northern NSW for its fourth and biggest year on June 20 and 21.

A Record-Breaking Surf Festival If the 2025 event is anything to go by, this year is shaping up to be massive. Last year, the festival pulled in a record crowd of more than 15,000 people. Nearly 300 women and young girls hit the waves for an inclusive tag-team contest, which featured divisions ranging from under-14 mini-shredders right through to para surfing, shortboarding, and longboarding.

The two-day weekend on the Tweed Coast is about much more than just competition. Spectators and participants can enjoy a packed lineup of free activities, including motivational speakers, yoga, breathwork sessions, ice baths, surfboard demo days, food trucks, and live music.

Eight-time World Champion Stephanie Gilmore summed up the community vibe perfectly: “What I love is seeing women from all walks of life getting into surfing, from age five to well into their sixties. It’s such a great community. Events like this are so important because they celebrate every kind of female surfer, whether they’re competing, running a small surf brand, or just out there having a go”.

Celebrity Challenges and Community Connection One of the major highlights returning in 2026 is the Celebrity Surf Challenge. Expect to see world champions, Olympians, media personalities, and junior stars teaming up for a friendly relay that supports women in sport. Two-time Olympic Gold Medallist Shayna Jack, who competed in the 2025 relay, noted the joy of seeing the past, present, and future of women’s surfing come together to celebrate empowerment.

The event’s growth is heavily supported by NRMA Insurance, who recently extended their commitment as Naming Rights Partner through to 2028. Surfing Australia Chief Executive Officer Chris Symington highlighted that the event is now a key moment on the surfing calendar, reflecting the continued growth, strength, and professionalism of women’s surfing in Australia.

NRMA Insurance Chief Customer and Marketing Officer Emily Roberts added that they are proud to champion the event and spotlight the impressive calibre of Australian women’s surfing talent on the global stage.

Whether you are a seasoned surfer or just want to soak up the atmosphere by the beach, the 2026 NRMA Insurance Seas The Day is set to be a brilliant weekend celebrating connection and community.
