Seven contenders standing in line for the Repco Supercars Championship gathered at Melbourne's Marvel Stadium before heading to Sandown Raceway for the Penrite Oil Sandown 500. Track action begins at the venue as the top drivers in the series compete for the right to advance to the Supercars Grand Final later this month.

While all 24 cars in the field will continue to race across the weekend, the seven remaining Finalists enter this penultimate round with their championship points reset. Only four of these seven drivers will secure passage to Adelaide to decide the 2026 champion.

The format for the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 requires drivers to contest two 250-kilometre races across Saturday and Sunday. On-track activity begins with two Supercars practice sessions scheduled for Friday at 2:40 p.m. and 3:25 p.m. AEDT. The 250-kilometre races will start at 3:30 p.m. AEDT on both Saturday and Sunday, with the combined results establishing the final four drivers who will race for the title on the streets of Adelaide from November 26 to 29.

Mostert Seeks Back-to-Back Championships

Reigning Supercars champion Chaz Mostert arrives at Sandown with momentum following a dominant victory on the streets of the Gold Coast a fortnight ago. The Queensland driver is focused on continuing his bid for back-to-back championship titles.

Mostert joins the six other Finalists with points reset ahead of the weekend. His recent performance on the Gold Coast street circuit demonstrates his form as he aims to navigate the two 250-kilometre races at Sandown and secure one of the four available spots for the Adelaide decider.

Waters Targets Final Four in Monster Ford

Mildura's Cam Waters enters the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 sitting sixth in the standings. The driver of the Monster Ford has previously tasted success at the venue as the 2017 Sandown 500 winner.

To advance to the Grand Final, Waters requires a strong performance across the two races to lift his position into the top four. Breaking into the final four is essential for Waters as he pursues his first Supercars crown.

Live television coverage of the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 will be broadcast via Kayo SPORTS and Foxtel. Race highlights will be available on the Seven Network and 7plus. Fans seeking to attend the penultimate round at Sandown Raceway can purchase tickets and premium experiences through and Ticketek.
